Some old notes from my Ghost blog:

• use markjax + katex for parsing equations in posts. See the following blog post
• Montserrat is a nice sans-serif font for headers. Crimson Text and PT Serif and are nice serif fonts for the main body, similar to Palatino or Garamond.
• Current theme uses a monospace font. Consider using EB Garamond (supposedly free, or has a free clone), testing it out initially using LaTeX. Other LaTeX-bundled fonts that are good candidates are Charter and Palatino.
